Our

Small in size, big on quality
Flanders Donut & Bake Shop was started by Ingrid and Andy Terracciano in 1972 in the Flanders Section of East Lyme, CT. At the time Flanders Four Corners was four stop signs and a few Mom and Pop stores. As Flanders grew, so did their business. Their wise business decision has Flanders Donut & Bake Shop continuing to thrive year after year.
The Beginning & The First Item
Andy was a 4th generation baker who started working in his family’s bakery in Brooklyn, NY. when he was 6 years old. All four of Ingrid and Andy’s children (Greg, Gina, Tina and Tony) have worked alongside of them. In 2001, Greg took over the business, continuing the hard work instilled by his parents. Gina also continues to put in the hard work, as they continue the success of the bakery. Our success over the years has also been helped by all family members who have worked at the bakery and of course the many employees. Ingrid and Andy’s children and grandchildren will ensure that skillful baking continues.
The first item Andy made in the bakery was chocolate chip cookies (not donuts) while listening to American Pie playing on the radio (the bakery’s theme song). We might be small in size, but we are big on quality. We will only use the best ingredients to ensure that quality. Ingrid has a saying that “we bake with love.”
